We can't believe it is already nearly the end of the year! We have lots of exciting learning planned including Sports Day, swimming and Circus experiences.  Swimming will continue to be Wednesday - Friday.

Computing

Year 4 have started to learn the skills to make an animated film.  So far they have created images and learned how to 'drag' their main character to the next frame.  They discovered that this made it much quicker to reproduce the same image.  They are already confident at using the drawing tools and had to think of a basic story line as a plot for the film.  Lots of great ideas Year 4!

The Year 4 National Multiplication Check will be administered between Monday 3rd and Friday 14th June. Our class will be doing their test during the second week. Please ensure they are practicing on TTRS and that they are particularly focusing on Soundchecks which have the same format as the test. Children can choose whether to do the test on a laptop or IPad. We will do a practice run before the actual test so they know what it will feel like on the day.

French Spring Term 2 Overview

Spring 1

A number of parents asked if we could provide a guide to methods we use for teaching calculations. Below is the policy from White Rose which we follow. If you are ever unsure, please ask to pop in and we will happily go through things with you. We are currently learning to multiply 3-digit numbers by 1 digit and next week are moving on to informal methods of division so that they are ready for the bus-stop method in Year 5.
