DT

Healthy Wraps - After a unit on healthy eating, the children researched, design and then made a wrap. It had to be vegetarian, include at least 2 of your 5 a day and look visually appealing to eat. The children practised skills, such as peeling, grating, chopping and spreading.

As part of our Kenyan topic, the children looked at African designs. They studied the fabrics, bright colours and patterns and made book marks using the patterns and colour they liked.

DT- Sewing.

Year 2 have been learning how to use a running stitch to create a patterned book mark, taking inspiration the geometric shapes in African textiles.

Mechanisms - Year 2 have been learning about mechanisms, such as levers, wheels and pivots. They have all practised doing their own mechanisms before making books in pairs which have a moving part of each page.
