Odd and Even numbers to 10 - 19/03/24

Today in Maths, we have been exploring finding ways of building odd and even numbers up to 10. The children enjoyed using the tens frame and counters to do this. They soon found that turning our tens frame portrait, makes each number look like the numicon pieces!

Number bonds to 10 - 13/03/24

This week in Maths, we have been using numicon to help us find our number bonds to 10. The children have enjoyed using a whiteboard to record each number sentence.  We found it much easier to write them 'in order' to ensure we didn't forget any! We started with 0 + 10 = 10 and kept going until we found them all.

Combining groups - 02/02/24

This week in Maths, the children have been working hard to combine 2 groups together. They have been writing some excellent number sentences, remembering to use add and equals too!

Odd or Even - 30/01/24

This week in Maths we have been looking at odd and even numbers to 10! We noticed that odd and even numbers go in a pattern! Odd, even, odd, even...

Numbers 0 to 5 - 08/01/24

This week in Maths we have been revisiting numbers 0 - 5 after our Christmas break. We have been exploring using part whole models to show the composition of different numbers, as well as finding different ways to represent numbers. We read a lovely book called 'I spy numbers in Art'. We had a go at creating our own I Spy books.

Patterns - 19/10/2023

This week in Maths we have enjoyed learning about Patterns. We have created our own patterns using our bodies and resources around the classroom. Can you spot the pattern?

More or Less? - 05/10/2023

Today in Maths we explored 'More and Less'. Miss Tims created some groups of teddies and we had to use our new vocabulary 'more', 'less' and 'same' to describe the groups!

Tyler - The blue and yellow match. They are the same!

Poppy - The green has more.

Rosie - The red has less than the purple.

We then went on to make our own more and less than stories up using resources around the classroom.
