Today, we explored how effective pulleys and levers can be and the affect they have on the force needed. We explored different types of ‘block and tackle’ pulleys Ancient Greek sailors used and still use today; and used catapults to move objects.
Today, Year 5 made their own parachutes and tested to see how the size affected the force of air resistance.
Today, Year 5 explored Friction and the effects of different surfaces.
Today, Year 5 began our topic of Forces by exploring Gravity. We looked at how weight and size changed the diameter and depth of craters.
This week Year 5 have been learning all about David Attenborough! As well as find out about his life, some children have used their termly research to follow in his footsteps and present the information. Well done!
