WELCOME TO YEAR 5!

I am so looking forward to seeing you all and hearing all about your summer! 

This term we have our PE sessions on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please could the children come into school in their PE Kits. 

I will set homework projects relating to a particular History, Geography or Science topic; the first one will be set on Friday 26th September. Optional maths homework is provided on the website, and I am happy to help or support children with it at lunchtime.

There is an expectation that children in Year 5 read five times a week. Please have the class bring their reading book to school every day, as we check to make sure that the children have read the day before or once over the weekend. This is so that it becomes routine, and we have found that consistency helps motivate children. I know a lot of the class will now read independently, but please could you listen to them once a week and sign their reading record.
