Reception
Welcome to EYFS!
Spring 1
Dear Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have enjoyed the snow over the last couple of days too.
Please find attached our Spring 1 Curriculum Map. This half term, our topic is 'The Big, Wide, World. As always, our topics are based off the children's interests. Our role play area this half term is an airport which has all sorts of lovely resources for the children to use.
Phonics/Reading:
New reading groups will begin tomorrow so please look out for new books on Friday. Please can you ensure book bags are in daily (but especially book change/return days Monday & Friday) so we can send books home. We will be starting phase 3 sounds in phonics. I did give you all a copy of this at our Meet the Teacher in September but I have re-attached for you on here so you can see.
PSHE:
Please find attached a letter regarding our PSHE lessons this half term 'PANTS letter for Parents'.
PE:
PE will remain on a Thursday with Mr Stocker. Please continue to send your children into school wearing their PE kits.
Weather:
As you know, we do try and get outside everyday in all weathers. Most children have wellies here already. Please ensure that children have appropriate clothing to go outside in. We do have spare waterproofs if needed.
As always, if you have any questions, please do let me know.
See you all in the morning.
Best wishes
Miss Tims
Autumn 2
Dear Families,
I hope you've all had a wonderful half term!
Please find attached our Autumn 2 Curriculum Map. We have lots of exciting visits planned such as a visit from local police officers and a walk down to the church for festive activities.
Please be aware - PE WILL NOW BE ON A THURSDAY ONLY. Mr Stocker will be taking the children for PE every Thursday for this half term. This means we no longer need to do PE on a Tuesday. Please send children in wearing PE kits on a Thursday only.
As always, if you have any questions please let me know. I look forward to seeing you all in the morning!

Welcome to Reception Class
Dear Families,
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Summer holidays and the children (and you!) are all feeling ready to start a new chapter tomorrow. Mrs Patterson, Mrs McCluskey and myself are all very much looking forward to welcoming the children in tomorrow.
We will collect the children the same as we did for their transition days from the gate which will open at 8:45 and close at 8:55. If you are past this time, please go to the office. Just to let you know that Year 1 will also be coming in/going home through this gate incase you wonder why it may look busier than usual!
A reminder that the children will be only be in for the mornings this week so please come back to the same gate at 12pm for collection on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. From Monday, they will be in all day (8:45 – 3:20).
Children will all be shown their trays and lockers over the first few days. As mentioned before, if you would like to send spare clothes in to stay at school, please pop them in a separate bag and remind your children that these are to be left in their lockers. We will send bookbags home over the next couple of weeks.
All your children will need for the first few days will be a water bottle and weather appropriate clothing for outdoor play (with our weather, this may be a sunhat or a rain coat!!). Snack is provided for the children. If you would like to send them in with a snack, please ensure that this is only a piece of fruit or vegetable. We also ask that water bottles contain water only.
Finally, I would like to invite you to a ‘Meet the Teacher’ session on Tuesday 16th September at 5pm where I will explain how to use tapestry and details of our curriculum/timetable. This meeting will be no longer than 30 minutes.
We will not start PE until after our meet the teacher session so please do not worry about PE kits for the first few weeks!!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best wishes
Miss Tims
