YORK RESIDENTIAL VISIT

Our 29 Year 6 pupils accompanied by Mr. Clements, Mrs. Kellett, Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Money thoroughly enjoyed their residential trip to York 8th - 12th February. Despite the snow they were able to complete all the planned activities which included visits to The Deep, Hull (en route), York Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle Museum - Victorian classroom (where they were dressed as Victorians), The Dig Archaeological Centre, Yearsley swimming pool, sketching in The Shambles, Merton Park - Home Front Day (dressed as evacuees). Children were also entertained by a Roman Visitor at Huntingdon House, followed up with a craft workshop. A very memorable week for all!

SAT RESULTS

We were delighted to learn from the published league table results in the Eastern Daily Press (2nd December 2009), Blofield School has been ranked as the second highest performing school in Norfolk for achieving 100% level four in all three subjects. These results are the best the school has ever had and reflect the wonderful work being undertaken in the school by very motivated staff.

SWIMMING

A big thank you to the PTA who have fully funded the cost of refurbishment of our swimming pool changing rooms! The work is now complete and we are delighted with the new modern facilities which will be used for general sports changing as well as swimming. The 2010 swimming season will commence on 7th June on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

FUN TIME CLUB

Fees for our after school 'Fun Time Club' are £8 per session and there is a 10% sibling discount when siblings attend the same session. An annual registration fee of £15 per family is payable before children can attend any sessions. Bookings can be made direct to Karen – office@funtime-club.co.uk or by text or phone on 07787 402187 by 2.00 p.m. on the day the child is attending or in advance. Forms are also available in the school entrance foyer. Parents are very welcome to pop in to the Fun Time Club base (mobile at the rear of the school) any afternoon from 3.20 p.m. to see the wide range of activities available to children attending the Club.

All the pupils will benefit enormously from these new purchases!!

A NEW CLASSROOM

We are delighted with our new Year 4 classroom and extended car park facilities! The spacious and bright new classroom is fully equipped with air conditioning, interactive whiteboard/projector, new furniture and fittings! The mobile is now used as the Drama/Music Room and is also the base for our after school club (Fun Time Club).

SCHOOL'S RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO PARIS!

37 pupils in Years 5 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed a residential trip to Paris (13-17th October 2008). Activities included visits to
the local market, Chocolataterie, the Eiffel Tower, a boat trip, Montmartre Sacre Coeur and Musee d'Orsay. Thank you to Mrs. Sumner for her meticulous planning and preparation for this visit. Children have mementos and photographs from this wonderful experience on display in our entrance foyer.
